Mountain Goat offer two daily guided sightseeing tours dedicated to Beatrix Potter. The tours visit places associated with Beatrix Potter's famous little tales, farms and properties owned by Beatrix Potter and locations featured in the acclaimed “Miss Potter” starring Rene Zellweger much of which was filmed in the Lake District in 2006. Both tours include a 40 minute stop over at Hilltop, Beatrix Potter’s famous farmhouse home in the village of near Sawrey. The farmhouse contains many of Beatrix Potter’s personal possessions and remains much as it was when she owned the property (now in the care of the National Trust). The traditional cottage garden at Hilltop is easily recongnised as the garden featured in the “Tale of Tom Kitten” and many of her other stories. The tours allow many opportunities for photos and time to admire the landscape and scenery that was so loved by Beatrix Potter. The tours are led by local, knowledgeable Driver/Guides and are an ideal way to learn about Beatrix Potter, not only as a children's author and artist but also as a farmer, environmentalist and a great supporter and benefactor of the National Trust.
