For those wishing to visit a selection of attractions and places associated with Beatrix Potter Mountain Goat operate two seasonal bus services that link Windermere Station, Windermere Village, Bowness, Near Sawrey, Hawkshead and Coniston. This is the ideal way to get about and visit the award winning World of Beatrix Potter, Windermere Lake Cruises, Hilltop and The Beatrix Potter Gallery

Windermere – Bowness Shuttle
Departing regularly throughout the day from Windermere Station the Mountain Goat Windermere-Bowness shuttle provides a convienent way to travel into the village of Bowness and on to the shores of Lake Windermer and Bowness Piers.

Your Shuttle Ticket allows unlimited travel all day and is ideal for those visiting the Windermere area by public transport or for those who simply want to give the car a rest for the day!

The Cross Lakes Shuttle
Linking Bowness, Near Sawrey, Hawkshead, Grizedale and Coniston, The Cross Lakes Shuttle operates in conjunction with Windermere Lake Cruises, Stagecoach and Coniston Launch. With ferries linking regularly from Bowness to meet the shuttle bus on the west side of Windermere this a great way to explore Beatrix Potter Country. Stop off at Near Sawrey to visit Beatrix Potter’s home, Hilltop, explore the delightful village of Hawkshead with its charming shops, beautiful church and the Beatrix Potter Gallery, enjoy a walk at Tarn Hows, "England’s most beautiful view", cruise on Coniston Water or maybe even mountain biking in Grizedale Forest.

Your Shuttle Ticket gives unlimited travel for a day, so buy a Long Stay car parking ticket, then ask the Shuttle driver for your discounted shuttle ticket and use it as often as you want to get about the area.

Alternatively the Shuttle also serves Windermere Rail Station, so why not give your car a day off and come to Bowness and Windermere by public transport?
